The 'Ocean Garden' Mural
Public Art Project in Downtown Cocoa Beach, Fl.

The 'Ocean Garden' mural is located in downtown Cocoa Beach on the north facing wall of the Juice-n-Java Cafe building, next to the Bank of America parking lot. The wall faces traffic on the south bound lane of A-1-A.
A Public Art Contribution to the Community of Cocoa Beach. Designed and Painted by Rick Piper (me), with Initial Sponsorship by Bob Estes (thanks Bob)

It's over 125 feet long and around 13 feet high, a 1625 square foot painting. The subject matter incorporates a Trompe L'oeil  architectural effect using the existing half columns as the out side of a covered walkway from a courtyard flower garden to the dunes on a beach point. I featured surreal scale elements at each end of the mural. At the west end a macro view passion flower bloom and to the east, an inundating 6 foot wave with schooling fish swimming in the air. I'm painting this project to a level of fine art detail that can be appreciated from one foot away to 200 feet away. I hope this will be a landmark mural and a beautiful addition to the cultural landscape
